'La Boîte' (The Box) is an immersive video installation that attempts to simulate the experience of alienation in Dutch society. By means of surrounding image and sound, the installation stimulates the viewer to immerse themselves more deeply in an environment in which it becomes clear that people are getting further and further away from each other.

The installation takes the visitor on a visual journey. Through documentation of the Dutch societal environment, viewers will be able to experience how I see that people tend to isolate from each other. La Boîte tries to make the viewer reflect on their own behavior in society, the expectations that society has for them, and the consequences of alienation between people. The aim of the project is to create awareness and show how this alienation affects our daily lives and open a dialogue about how we interact as individuals and as a society.
